Our commitment to design

Whether you have a historic building requiring a storage solution to compliment period surroundings, or a temporary exhibition needing the audioguides to match the show's colours and design, Flexi offers a cost effective, unique and durable design solution. Whether you need advice on an existing environment or are organising an exhibition at concept stage, Flexi is here to help.

Our commitment to content

Flexi understands that any tour it creates, must reflect the essence of a site and has a deep commitment to historical and factual accuracy.

Audioguides work best with judicious use of music and sound effects. At Flexi we pride ourselves in creating realistic atmospheres and go to great lengths to source music of the particular period we are describing. We believe strongly in getting the right sound for that moment in the audio tour. This includes recording sound effects on-site or using the National Sound Archives to find the right canon that would have been used in a particular battle or a bird specific to one island in the world. We also have our own extensive sound effects library.

Curatorial in-put

Many of our tours use curators and conservators talking about particular objects and paintings. We are happy to record them on site or invite them to our studio. Using experts helps visitors identify with a site and helps them feel connected to the surroundings. It adds perceived added value to the visit.

All our tours are constructed to ensure that visitors feel they are being led around the site or gallery by a friend, who is steeped in the history, architecture or art history of that particular venue. An expert who, in a friendly and even confiding manner, tells them everything that they want to know - and more. With this narrator and by sympathetically using sound effects and music, we can place the visitor at the centre of the action, taking them back to the past and evoking the essence of the site. Visitors have a sense of connecting with and understanding history, architecture or the visual arts.

Specialist Tours

VIP

One of our greatest strengths when crafting a VIP tour is our interaction with those people for whom the tour is being created. We work closely with the visually impaired, focus groups and VIP auditors, including the RNIB. Our audio guides adhere to DDA guidelines with raised keypads and enhanced descriptive content. We also provide hearing loop devices for visitors with aural impairments.

Languages

All translations for foreign language tours are created by native speakers familiar with the English idiom. All our translators work in radio and television and are therefore expert aural interpreters.

Children's Tours

All our children's tour scriptwriters are highly qualified professionals with expertise in creating tours for children of all ages. We follow national curriculum guidelines working closely with education officers and focus groups drawn from local schools.
